Knott & Sons was formed as a Partnership in 1960 by Mr. Tony Knott who was joined in 1978 and 1979 respectively by his two sons Robert and Tony Knott. Due to the steady growth of the Company the need for a professional Surveyor arose and Clive Short joined the Company in this capacity in 1983. As the Company went from strength to strength the need for a Contract Manager arose and Tony Melchior joined in 1986. Tony Knott retired from the Partnership in 1998 leaving the company to the four remaining partners whose roles within the company are as follows: - Clive Short ARICS - Surveyor Tony Melchior - Contracts Manager Robert Knott - Estimator Tony Knott - Works Manager The Company became Limited in December 2006 and at present employs 40 men. All of our labour recieves on-site training to ensure that our very high standards of work are continually met. Our men also hold certification from the Construction Industry Training Board relating to Construction Skills and Health & Safety Awareness and the majority of our foremen hole NVQ Level 2 Construction - Paving. We are members of Interlay, The Association of Block Paving Contractors. In addition we are on the Marshalls Register of Approved Contractors.
